Hi guys,

I've got my first kit conditioning and am a couple of weeks away from ordering my equipment for my first AG.

In the meantime I am intrigued by and want to fully understand the science behind brewing, what goes on under the hood and all the factors that contribute to the finished product.

Can any of you guys recommend some thorough reading, be it books or websites?

Many thanks in advance.

Thought I was posting in books and publications area, damn phone. Can this be moved?

Looks like the Brewing Elements range of practical guides would cover everything. Anybody read and can say if they are good or not?

John Palmers How to Brew is a good free read to get you started

I've read the yeast book of the elements series and it's fantastic. Not too technical and sciency to be unreadable to the layman and extremely informative. Haven't read any of the others in the series

Cheers MQ, will check that site out. Will probably start with the yeast book in the series.

Two books I like are Dave Miller's Homebrewing Guide and The Homebrewers Guide To Vintage Beer by Ron Pattinson.
