I bought a John Bull apple cider kit and decided to add a bit of elderflower cordial to it to enhance the flavour. It's nearly 2 weeks past the completion date now and it is incredibly bitter. Undrinkable, actually. Will this bitterness fade through time or have I royally fooked the whole batch up by adding 500ml of cordial?

Any thoughts or ideas are welcome.

Cheers

Ok, so the cider is now drinkable. Has been for a few weeks. It's still quite sharp but you can taste the elderflower coming through which is what I hoped for. Just didn't think it'd take 3 months to balance out. Anyway, lesson learned.

Still quite sharp? Than there is only one possible answer... Patience my young padawan ;)
Give it more time. It will mellow out more and get more balanced. sharpness will go.
Give it time and it will be better...

Yeah, it might actually help if I liked cider a bit more. Some of my friends have tried it and thought it was nice. Even when I thought it was undrinkable.
