Hi All,

I'm trying my hand at an APA (American Pale Ale). Here's my recipe so far. Input is welcome!

9 kg Pale Ale Malt
1 kg Munich Malt
.25 kg CaraMunich Type 1

Mash In & Hold @ 68°C for 60 mins
Mash Out @ 75°C 10 Mins
Sparge @ 75°C

IBU Target: 30 IBUs

First Wort Hopping 20g Magnum @ 15% AA = 10 IBUs
10 min from BoB 20g Cascade @ 7.72% AA = 8.23 IBUs
10 min from BoB 20g Fuggle @ 5.1% AA = 5.44 IBUs
15 min from EoB 10g Cascade @ 7.72% AA = 2.15 IBUs
15 min from EoB 10g Fuggle @ 5.1% AA = 1.42 IBUs
5 min from EoB 20g Cascade @ 7.72% AA = 1.72 IBUs
5 min from EoB 20g Fuggle @ 5.1% AA = 1.14 IBUs

Safale US-05

Thanks,

Awfers

Sorry I have no input, still trying to get my head around this homebrewing malarkey. But you know where to send a bottle when it's done :-)

Haha..

Thanks for the input

It's brew day today (again), so I'll see what it gives..

looks good and very hoppy which is how I like to brew my beers too

Is that the full 5 gallons you are brewing ?

It's actually run out for 50 liters in the kettle, for +/- 45 liters post boil.

Tasting the wort from the gravity reading, it's not bad, nicely hopped, not an IPA, but with a good hop flavour.

Will post again once it's bottled.
