I have been batch sparging in 3 steps which are drain top up drain top up drain leaving 10 mins after each top up before draining without stirring at all. But from reading what many seem to do they seem to stir in after the top ups and not wait 10 mins. My last batch I stirred and wait 10 mins and it seemed to slightly improve efficiency but thats been a bit all over (and not monitored well by me) the place anyway.
Does anyone think it makes much difference how you do this and if there's any point in the 10 min waits?
