Hi everyone
I have a batch of bitter which seems to be ruined by diacetyl. (I think I had a bum yeast pack, the wort failed to start to ferment for about 36 hours before I threw in a pack of dried yeast which got it going. I think it was spoiled by this delay). :hmm:
Anyway, I googled and came up with the suggestion that diacetyl can be 'cleaned up' by pitching another sample of good, vigorous yeast: http://www.thebrewingnetwork.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=&t=10313#_thread
Does anyone have any experience of this? In particular as I've already put my batch into a keg with priming sugar, do I re pitch into the keg, do I decant into a FV and re-pitch and then re-prime when it goes back into the keg...?
Thanks very much for any suggestions :hat:
