anyone know a good porter?

Good evening all.
I'm after an easy to brew,tasty porter. I'm a proper novice at this and I'm guessing that a porter is a bit more complex than your average beer so I'm not sure where to begin. Any suggestions?

If you're thinking all grain I can't advise but as far as kits are concerned I don't think you can beat Woodfordes Nog.

Another good kit is Festival Pride of London Porter. I've done both that and Woodfordes Nog, and both are very good. Pride of London is probably the more complex beer, as there are finishing hops to add, and I think it takes longer to develop the full range of flavours than the Nog. If you're patient, or have stocks of something else to drink while you're waiting, then I'd go for PoL.

If you are thinking all grain start of with a simple brown porter, Fuller's London Porter is a simple and very nice one

This was really easy to brew and turned out very drinkable. I've still got a mini keg of it that I'm saving for over Christmas!
