I've just made my first brew using Hambleton Bard "tea bag" hop pellets. The bag was immersed yesterday in the brew at 1012, and today it is floating. I expected it to sink. Is this normal? Should I give it a squeeze?

Welcome to the forum!

Just leave it where it is rather than disturbing the beer and risk infection. Next time you might want to tie the bag to a metal knife, some people put marbles in a muslin bag to weigh the hops down so they sink.

I've not had much luck with that brand myself, the hops are not very 'hoppy'. Let us know how it turns out.

Thanks Noah, My hop bag seems as seaworthy as your ark! Different makes of hop bag are better? I've only come across this one so far. Your recommendation would be gratefully received.
