Just Tried my test PET bottle of Old English Bitter.

Approx 4.2% ABV

Started 4th December
Bottled 14th December
1st Time Using PET Bottles.

Conditioned for 5 days (Pack suggests 2 days, but I thought this wasn't enough, so I left it at 21 Degrees Celsius for 5 days.

Cooled test bottle in the fridge this morning.

Tasted Test Bottle today.
Tastes like a great bitter, a nice bitter taste, no strong after taste.
Not too Harsh, like an Abbot Ale.
Looking forward to it.

Hardly any Sediment, batch primed with 170grams of Dextrose in a second container before bottling.

Some of the head remained until the last drop.

Looks like a success story for my first bitter.

PET Bottles seem as good as glass bottles.

I'll now leave the other 36 bottles
on the cold shelf under the stairs until early Jan.
(I need will power to achieve this !).

Regards
Tibbs

Hi Tibbs

Very pleased that you are enjoying your beer already (16 days!!). I can assure you absolutely that it will improve after a few weeks.

Two can kits are worth the outlay for mine and Muntons will be as good as any.
