what to use for FV bath?

That's a bit overkill, and will be awkward to use (too tall). The standard flexible garden trug like these - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FLEXI-GAR...UILDING-MATERIAL-HOLDER-PLASTIC-/141480135754 - in the large size (generally 39 - 42 litres) are ideal. The base diameter is 34 and most of the usual plastic 25L FVs are just under that. You only need to fill the trug to just below the level of the beer in the FV (as otherwise it'll float), so the trug depth of around 33cm is sufficient. It's a setup that works well - just remember to drain the trug *before* you syphon the beer!
 
as long as 4 to 5 inches of the fv sit in the warmer water it will have a good effect. too much depth and as dbg400 says your fv will become buoyant which will be counterproductive ;) insulation of the system above the warming liquid will help too bubblewrap works well
