Adapted from the English IPA recipe in Home Brew Beer...basically quantities dropped to match the efficiency of the machine:
5kg Maris Otter
125g Crystal
Challenger 70g 70 mins
Goldings 35g 15 mins
Goldings 35g 0 mins
1/4 tsp protofloc
OG: 1.060 (spot on what I was aiming for so pleased with that)
Volume: 20.5l, 2.5l less than expected so not overjoyed with that.
Was meant to use Windsor yeast but got a bit mixed up and used Nottingham instead which has a higher attenuation so it's going to be stronger than I wanted.
If I'd used the correct yeast i'd have had an expected FG of 1.017 (ABV: 5.66) but with the Nottingham it'll be more like 1.014 (ABV: 6.05). Might top it to 23l up with water to bring the ABV down, is that a terrible idea?
Brew was done in 4.5 hours which is a massive 1.5 hours less than last time (used warm water for the mash and started the boiler shortly after the sparge so that trimmed a good amount off.
