Im new to homebrew. A few of the beers that i bottled when i open them there was nothing but foam coming out. What causes that?

In short, over carbonated beer will cause the beer fountain effect, the reasons for over carbonated bottles can be:
Bottling too early (too much sugar left in wort)
Too much priming sugar used or uneven distribution of it
Wild yeasts fermenting out all the sugar (could have got in during transfer or from dirty bottles)

If you can stand your beer really well chilled, you might get the beer to absorb more of the CO2. Might just prevent some remaining 'gushers'!
