Hi all , Ive just found an out of date kit (1 yr out) of John Bull IPA. Is it worth the bother or chuck it away .... ?

Cheers.

Agree - definitely new yeast - LHBS or Wilko, perhaps. Just don't use 1 year out of date yeast as this is asking for trouble.

Thanks guys! I'll get some new yeast. What hops would you recommend for a hop tea or dry hopping? Thanks again.

For a first go, the cheapest. That was my motto at first.

Good dry hop or hop tea - Cascade. That's a hop and not usually too expensive.

30g hop tea is the suggestion. If you can get pellets, even better, just boil it up for 5-15 mins, leave it to cool down and chuck it in the FV, all the lot. Time it so that it goes in when the first ferment has died down after 3 days or so.
