Hi all. I have a 5 gallon auto syphon for when I used to brew kits. Am now looking to take my brewing to the next step with some all grain brews and have decided to make a few small batches to start (8-10 litre batches).

I know you can get a 1 gallon auto syphon, but just wondering if my 5 gallon one will do the same job before going out to buy another one.

Thanks

Yes its basically just a longer version you have, can make it slightly more unwieldy to use with smaller FVs but not worth buying a separate smaller one in my opinion

I have both.

I do 10/11l batches and the 5 Gallon syphon is absolutely fine - you just have to be careful that it doesn't unclip from the side of the bucket.

I use the 1 Gallon syphon for beers where I've added Brett or bacteria.
