I was going to give spraymalt a go on my latest brew opposed to brewing sugar for bottling.

Last time I used suger instead of adding it to the bottles directly I siphoned the brew from one container to a clean one then slowly stirred the sugar in, I felt doing this improved the end result.

Question is, can I do the same with spraymalt?

Yes you can. But you need more spraymalt than sugar, cos it's not 100% sugar.

And I doubt there would be any discernible difference with the finished product, other than it'd have cost more.

Hmmm the kit I've got recommends it and suggests the same amount of spraymalt as sugar? Not sure what to do now can't make my mind up!

To prime 10 litres of beer at 20*C to 2.0 volumes of C02 you need:

45g Table sugar OR
50g Brewing Sugar OR
67g DME

This should give you a guide as to what you need. It's 50% more DME than table sugar. Half as much again. Or a third again, compared to brewing sugar.
