I am collecting elderberries to make a wine.
I have collected 1/4 of what is needed so far but am unsure how to store them while waiting for me to collect the other 3/4.
I will eventually freeze them because it'll be some weeks until brewday. Prior to freezing, should I:

  1. Wash them on the stems and then freeze them
  2. Leave them on stems, unwashed, and just freeze them
  3. Remove from stems and freeze
  4. removed from stems, wash, then freeze

I am thinking of the first option, but don't want to end up ruining any wine because of my actions.
Any advice would be great.
