Hello!

I've done 2 brews using the concentrate, but would like to have a go at doing it from scratch. Here's a kit ive found:

http://www.brewcraftbeer.co.uk/papa-hoptons-american-pale-ale-104-p.asp

Any advice on this? I know it wont make much, but i would like to get a few demijohns going, using different recipe's experimenting. When I find brews I like I will move to brewing buckets on a larger scale.

As I mentioned Im new, and still reading and learning. so any advice is appreciated!

I was just about to ask for exactly what you posted Steve! thank you.

Thats a lot cheaper than the kits on the website too!

No problem Ben hope it helps you:thumb: the guys and girls on here are a great bunch if you have any questions just ask away someone will be willing to help

Wheres the best place online to order what I will need?

And - what will I need? I've got an idea, demijohn, hydrometer, etc, etc. but if someone could give me a comprehensive list that would be so useful, or point me towards one on the forum?

and a REAL silly question - what does AG stand for haha?

Sorry I just realised its all listed in the post! Still, any good online shops you reccomend?

Thanks for the links! I have a wilko near me, I was in there today looking at equipment. could be making another trip.

Would I need whole, or crushed malt?

Also, how long will both Malt and Hops last if I buy more than I need?

Ok, would I buy the vacuum packed hops, and freeze what I dont use?

A selection of hops is given in the post - any recommendations for what you think would work well?

Yes just buy a pack of vac packed hops and put what you don't use in the freezer. I just fold down the pack and hold it in place with a peg then put the whole thing in a zip lock bag then put it in the freezer.

As for which hop to choose it's all a matter of personall choice. Have a browse through this list and choose one you like the sound of.
