Hi all... been a while since I was in here! Just mashing 50 ltrs of a Guinness clone - haven't brewed for an age, so really looking forward to this one!

Any familiar faces around?

Cheers!

Nice to hear from you folks!
Yup, thought I'd do a proper brew lol
Thanks for the warm welcome back, been a while since I was here, good to be back!
Right, sparge water nearly up to temp, tea made, 6.15 am and time to crack on!
Edit: Oh sorry Mansemasher... no, bottling - it's a labour of love!

Certainly a labour!! Good luck!

Cheapbrew - no problem, last time I made this, it was spot one - hoping for similar results!
This is for the 50ltr
8kg pale malt
2kg flaked barley
1kg roasted barley

Mash was 29 ltr water at 73.5 overnight
Sparge 33 ltr at 75

60g northern brewer at 60 min boil
60g goldings at 30 min
40g goldings flame out

yeast - irish ale wyeast 1084

Slight change this time - no norther brewer - all goldings and replaced 1kg pale with 1kg munich - will report back as to how that worked!

Good luck if you go with it - let me know!

Mine all tucked up now, just starting to bubble!

Thanks Tony :thumb:keep us posted,
I'll not be able to do mine for a week or so as I'm pushing my luck with house space at the mo, so will have to wait for one of me wines or cider to finish
