Done two lots of apples now and got what I think are pretty poor yields. In both cases had around 25kg of mixed apples. Chopped them up and put through a food processor with a blade on to pulp them and then used a 12 litre cider press. Both times only got about 7 litres for 4 hours worth of work.

Does this feel right and any suggestions to improve?

Depends on the apples, type how ripe, how dry was you're pulp after pressing? Read a few post were some got a bit from that amount 10-11 ltrs.

I've found that a grater attachment rather than a blade in the food processer yields much more...
