Hi all,

Thought I would get some thoughts on this single hop brew recipe. Aiming for an American Pale Ale with low bittering and nice clean/dry hoppy flavour.

Any thoughts on shifting the hops slightly more towards the start of the boil? I'm concerned that so much towards the end (compared to the small amount of bittering at the start) will add too much flavour (if there is such a thing as too much flavour)....

20l batch

2.5 kg Liquid Malt Extract - Light
0.5 kg Cane Sugar

10.0 g Cascade (US) 60 min
15.0 g Cascade (US) 30 min
20.0 g Cascade (US) 15 min
15.0 g Cascade (US) 5 min
15.0 g Cascade (US) 30 min Whirlpool

Safale US-05

Thanks

Looks good to me, I do BIAB but am going to pinch your recipe and use Marris Otter grain instead of extract.

If you are worried about being back end heavy you could go with 15g cascade at 60 mins 10g at 30 mins just swap them around

I did a 25l cascade and used 40, 40, 40 plus 25.

40 grams at 60 minutes
40 grams at 10 minutes
40 grams after flame out at 80 degrees for 15 minutes

and then 25 gram dry hop for 5 days , i would have used 40g but that meant opening another bag.

It was quite bitter, but I like bitter, maybe to calm it down, use 25g at 60 minutes.
It was a fine beer.
