So today is my first brew of the new year! 🎉🎊🍻

How to celebrate? Why a DIPA of course! Have wanted to do one for ages and with the Forum comp being a DIPA next month and the WBB having a friendly comp to best use of the Vic's Secret hop it seemed rather apt.

Nice! Keep us posted! What hops you are going to use (bitterhop/dryhop), what is your og? Alcohol % ?

It's all a single hop, Vic's secret. Aim for OG is 1080 final figure of around 8-8.5%

Managed to get through with relative ease. I got the 1080 OG but only ended up with 15ltrs in the fermenter. Majorly miscalculated the malt and hops loss. But it's still going to be about 40-45 bottles so happy with that.
All tucked up in the fridge now. 😎👌🍻

😂 Yeah. I've turned the Utility room into a Bar (which doubles as the brewery).

What can I say I like variety.
😜👌

Bottled it last Thursday (9th). Should be able to try a bottle next weekend to see how it's fairing. So far so good I think. 😎🖒

So I pulled a bottle out today for brew day.

Decent body. The head didn't stay long but the hiss upon opening and initial head was good. Perhaps with a bit more time this will improve.

It's only been bottled 2 weeks today so early days really.

Guess I better get the label sorted! 😎🍻
