Best bench capper (from Amazon)

After another night of frustrating bottling I need to invest in a bench capper. My two-lever capper is about 25 years old and it takes about 6 attempts to cap each bottle.

I have some Amazon vouchers to use so going to treat myself. There are a few bench capper but with either mixed reviews or no reviews. Does anyone use any of these cappers and if so would you recommend it?

Can't advise you on those ... mine has a scew fitting to adjust the height, that's fine if you have the same size bottles but it would be pain if I had to adjust for different size bottles. So I guess you could look at that to start with, how easy is it to adjust the height.

I have also screwed mine onto a table ... it makes things loads easier.

I have the 2nd one, only done about 50 bottles with it but it is good so far, caps them easily and height adjustment is simple.

Mine looks the same as the second one, but it doesn't say who manufactured it on the Amazon one so I'm not sure if it's identical, that being said mine's worked flawlessly since I've had it and is a dream to use compared to a twin leaver capper, so much faster.

I've got the same as Millemg and I can't fault it. It is out of stock on ebay now, but it is the same brand as the first link you showed and when I bought it it was the same price as it.

I got one like no 2..must have done 400+ bottles and all good so far . Got mine from homebrewonline.

That one has plastic components, mine is all steel

Yeah, yours is the same as mine, this one, though now I'm looking back it was Ã¯Â¿Â½ÃÂ£32, so a bit more expensive that the one with the plastic.

I have the one in the third link and it works just fine. ÃÂ£29 is a bit steep though as Geterbrewed have it for ÃÂ£19.

It's done quite a few hundred bottles with no problems.

Whatever type of capper you get, please remember to dry off the small "hood" and put a smear of Vaseline on the underside after you finish each session. It reduces corrosion when it's not in use as well as reducing sticking and wear when being used.

Although my bench capper is similar to one on your list I don't think it is any of them. I am very happy with it, even though it cost ÃÂ£30 ish with 5% discount from a forum-listed vendor, not from Amazon.

That said, barring a defective item, I think all bench capper users will generally be very happy with the ease of bottle capping as previous replies seem to confirm. Some come with both 26mm and 29mm heads. Some, like mine, with just a 26mm head with the option to buy the other capping head which I decided I would be unlikely to need.

Given that nothing lasts forever, for me, the length of warranty was an important factor - mine came with 3 years as standard - together with a reputable vendor. Having the backing of Amazon is a great move. So I suggest that you consider the length of warranty when making your final decision.
