Hi

Sorry, I'm sure this question has been asked before but couldn't find a thread.

What are people's thoughts on using a hop spider with the Grainfather. Does it make clean-up much easier? I hate cleaning.....

I've got one and find it easier to clean for both pellets and leaf. I also get less blockages although I bought it when I had the pump filter so not sure if blockages are a concern with the new filter.

I'm perfectly happy not using a hop spider with my GF.

Most of the hops stick to the filter so I take that out and give it a quick blast of water get rid of them. Then I put a litre or two of cold water into the GF to mix with the remaining trub and tip that away.

I don't get blockages as such but sometimes a reduced flow rate out of the pump when I've used loads of hops in the recipe, presumably because the whole filter is covered in a very thick layer of hop bits. The filter is the current version.
