Hello Brewers,

i am currently, using my own brewing set out of stainless steel. In the past i have always used Teflon tape for sealing fittings, and valves. Friend of my recommend that i should maybe try using silicon tape as it makes it easier to detach equipment and clean these. Does anyone of you guys have experience with this? Do you know a good supplier that has WRAS approval?

Happy for any input given.

Short update if ever anyone has the same question. I purchased my stainless steel ball valves and fittings from the company Swiss Fittings AG, and they then were so kind to provide me a free of charge silicon tape package (I asked for it ahaha). I was a bit worried using it, however it had all the necessary certifications. Conclusion: It is easier to use than Teflon tape and makes the cleaning (disassemble) easier and faster. I read in some of the forms from the States that silicon tape is very often used by microbreweries.

Next project, here I come.

Cheers
