I make an order from HBC...
Now when I made the order I thought what do I still have?
200g Challenger
70g Willamette
Some Nugget (can't recall how much)
100g Bramling X

So I thought don't order too many hops then this happened.

1 ea. Maris Otter - crushed grain 25kg (Muntons)
1 ea. Crystal - Crushed grain 40 EBC 1kg
1 ea. CHATEAU BISCUIT (Biscuit Malt) 50 EBC 500g Crushed
1 ea. Flaked Barley - crushed grains 500g (Warminster)
1 ea. Amber - crushed grains 500g (Warminster)
1 ea. Chocolate - crushed grains 500g
1 ea. Roast Barley - crushed grains 500g
1 ea. Best Wheat Malt 1kg Crushed (BESTMALZ) 4 EBC
1 ea. Spraymalt Light 500grm
2 ea. Spray-Dried Malt Extract Extra-Light 1kg

Oh and...

1 ea. Cascade 100g Vacuum packed Alpha Acid 6.0% 2015 Harvest
2 ea. East Kent Goldings -100g vacuum packed Alpha Acid 5.7% 2014 harv
1 ea. Galena (USA) - vacuum packed 100g Alpha Acid 13.2% 2014 Harvest
1 ea. Willamette (USA) - 100g vacuum packed Alpha Acid 6.0% 2015 harv
3 ea. Pilgrim - 100g vacuum packed Alpha Acid 10.4% 2014 harvest
1 ea. Tettnang - vacuum packed Alpha Acid 3.0% 2014 Harvest

A kilo of hops mostly because I see them an think... I'd like to try those

Oh well I best get flame on soon... maybe something hoppy!

That's the problem with online HBS', there's just so much choice. It's just rude not to slip some of that caraamberwheatblack malt into the trolly cuz it looks just so interesting, especially at the cheapo prices online shops often charge

u need more pale malt..

i tend to get carried away as well

have about 5kilo of roased barley
and something similar of chocolate

need to brew more stouts

Does hbc do custom weights for hops? I've always got half bags of hops left over and quite I would like to order less than 100g. Though I've started crafting recipes to use up all of a 100g pack!

I would, but I get earache for taking up space at home with 'beer stuff'. She wasn't very impressed when she found mini kegs in the wardrobe or when I told her that we can't buy too much food to put in the freezer because it is full (of hops).

And custom ag recipe kits.

I was just over £40 including delivery for the grains and hops for
The gh vanilla bourbon stout (using reclaimed us-05)
The gh raspberry wheat beer and wb003 (I think )
And 4.65kg of Vienna, 0.35 of caramel, 50g summit 50g galaxy and pack of us-05 (planned reserve yeast).

Need to check the total hop weight (at least 150g) but 17kg of malt and 2 dried yeast packs seemed a goo deal to me

Good to know I am not the only one. Like the sound of people doing small Hop quantities as it is that I always run out of. As also stated maybe I should get more pale at a time. 25kg usually sees me through 6 and a bit brews though.

I'm afraid I'm a bit too organised. When I run out of pale malt I do a stock take of what I have. Then I make a list of the next 5 or six brews I want to do along with all ingredients and quantities I'm going to need. Then order just what I need, and hopefully from a supplier who stocks everything so I don't end up with more than one delivery charge.
Bit of a c**k-up this time though as when I opened my 25kg bag of malt I found I'd ordered whole grains instead of crushed, so I then had to buy a grain mill even though that cost more than just buying another bag of malt.
Next brews:
1. Biere de garde (just done this one)
2. Northern brown
3. Smoked biere de garde (on the trub from the first - the yeast was £6.85!!!!)
4. Treacle stout
5. Ghost ship clone
6. Smoked ghost ship

So that lot should keep me happy for a while.
