I've done 4 cali commons using MJ's m54 - I only use one packet re-hydrated for 21 litres.

30/01/2021 brew 65 - california steamin - red cap
2 litres cs - boiled
50g Simcoe 10 boil 20 flameout
1.5kg extra light dme
1.5kg light
500g dwe
mj 54 Californian
1.062 pitched at 21.5
4 day 100g mouteka dry hop
110g brewing sugar for priming
23/02/2021 fg 1.014 = 6.3%

That's not a Cali Common at all. Looks like an American IPA.
 
Fermenter was bubbling away within 12 hours.
Threw in 2 packs of re-hydrated MJ jacks cali lager.

Fermenting at 19degrees.

Fingers crossed it works out
 
There seems to be a lot of beers stalling at about 1.020 at the moment. Different yeasts, different beers, but hearing it more in the last 6 months than at other times. I wonder whether there is a reason or whether it's just random a correlation.
 
Argh!
Just realised that I hadn't pluged my heatbelt to the inkbird.

Hopefully the rise in temp will wake/speed the yeast up.
