A car was left jammed in a narrow footpath in a seaside town for a week after two tourists went the wrong way using sat-nav.
The driver managed to get the new Nissan Juke through a gap near the RNLI station in Tenby, Pembrokeshire.
The mechanic who helped remove it said the American women blamed the sat-nav before abandoning the car to catch a train to their hotel.
"No-one's ever got a vehicle down there before," said Stephen Lowe.
They were trying to get to St Catherine's Island, which is at the foot of the nearby beach.
Mr Lowe said the tourists drove until they could go no further.
A protected Victorian heritage wall perched on the cliff made the extraction tricky.

Easily done. The moral of this story is never buy a car without a sunroof.

I've been in a situation where "Holly" has directed us up a Metalled road, to the rear of a DIY shop. The road was clearly maintained and navigable, but blocked with a barrier. Upon which Google Maps instructed us to continue to our destination on foot!
Why did we follow this route? To see what would happen. Now we know. Another occasion GM directed us in the opposite direction to the town we we trying to reach. Fortunately we were also using a road map. It turned out we were being sent to a restaurant of the same name some 40 miles away.
As for navigating abroad! And I don't mean Tenby. You definitely need to double check, which can be difficult if there's only one in the car.
