Ink bird

Just asking what the general consensus is about where people put the sensor end of an ink bird in a fridge?
As in either taped to the side of the fermenter or placed in a bowl of sanitized solution or??????

I would say from reading many threads on the subject here that taped to the side with something like a sponge covering it is the most popular method.

I use a sponge cloth taped to the side with a good quality duct tape. Doc Anna manages to get hers through the airlock as she uses the large Speidel airlocks which I also have but haven't tried that yet as I generally prefer a blow off tube.
