While pressing some apples, I started thinking about the pulp I was throwing away.

As an experiment, I took a cake of pressed pulp, put it in a large pail, and broke it up, then stirred in water to cover.

The result I re-pressed, obtaining a rather dilute mix with a specific gravity of 1.023, approximately (juice previously extracted was about 1.050).

Adding sugar to this and brewing using my "2L bottle method" has in fact resulted in a drinkable drink: 12 litres of it, better than a cheap supermarket cider, with a fresh taste (and also, since I added 7oz (200g) of sugar per bottle, quite a zing)!
