Hi, I made a rose wine kit back in October and friends and family love it, but my wife finds it a tad strong.

I followed the instructions and added the recommended amount of granulated sugar 3kg and about 350g to sweeten at the end.

If I wanted to lower the ABV what difference would it make if I added 2kg of sugar instead of 3kg and would I need to alter the amount of yeast, or is there another way of reducing the ABV.
TIA Andy

Roughly speaking. You want to remove 500g sugar.

Assuming your 12% is accurate (ish), we can calculate your starting brix is 20. Which is 11.8% alc (close enough)

Assuming it ferments dry, we need to remove 2%. Alc

Fact: 1° brix is 1% =10g per litre
So..
2° brix is = 20g per litre x 25litres = 500g
