Being a sad git I checked their site.
Innis and Gunn the La Goudale are in the 4 for 6 offer.
The Brewdog isnt in the offer and the Westmalle doesnt even come up in the search.

Trouble is at the till you're never going to say you dont want them because they're not 4 for £6

Going shopping with the kids!

The Tesco extra by me has a rubbish selection of beers, Asda is too far away, Sainsbury's is too expensive but they do have a good selection. Morrisons is closest and has a great selection and gas recently started doing a craft selection in 440ml cans.

Can beat Aldi on price though
I've always thought Saino's is 1. Too orange. 2. Always a poor selection of bottled beers.
I'm shocked at a Tesco extra, they are the huge ones right? I only go there for the points (and the beers when im on the other side of town)

The only things worth getting from Aldi imho are PJ and some of the Hobgoblins.

I do check that vital things like beer offers ring true at the till...in Asda (I ask the checkout person to check)I've had a couple of times where the offer never kicked in... then it's time for someone to go check.

Cant really moan about how supermarkets treat their supplier/customers/staff yet buy beer from them. Bet there is a small independent booze shop close enough to use its just that they are a little bit more expensive and not quite as convenient. The problem is it costs them a little bit more to treat their suppliers/customers/staff properly.

We have a new to me independent small bottle (mainly cans) shop in town. I stopped in the other day and bought 3 cans...£12. one was great, one not bad the third was a chance buy..I had a good look at his stocks...none of which were available at any local supermarket.
I'll be back!

There are a couple of really big Indy beer/wine shops by where I work, which have a huge selection of beers, but they are generally quite expensive, especially for stuff you can't get anywhere else. That said, it's £3.50-£4 for a pint of ale in a pub by me, more depending on style, so spending £2-3 in an offy for an exotic beer you can't get anywhere else is worth it occasionally imo.

Bought these today in Morrisons as they were on a 4 for £6 offer. When I got home found from the receipt they had charged me nearly £9. If I went back they would claim one of the bottles wasn't part of the offer. Shocking customer service I'll stick with Aldi and Lidl in future.
You have to watch Morrison’s as I’ve had similar experiences with other products. On fruit they put the ‘on offer’ product next to the standard offering but the stacking wasn’t clear and easy to get the more expensive items by mistake

I was caught out by this years ago, but I think it wad because I didn't check properly.

ALL supermarkets bully their suppliers, not just Tesco. Don't believe all the ******** about 'colleagues' either (maybe with the exception of Waitrose). My local Sainsbury's has a **** beer selection, but my local Tesco has a massive range.

Also, with regard to one of those beers not being in the offer was it on the right shelf? Another customer may have put it back on the wrong shelf. The general public is a nightmare when it comes to shopping, dumping things they decide they don't want half way round a shop because they're too lazy to put it back on the shelf.

Surely the problem is that you didn’t check that the bottles were included in the offer, all the main supermarkets mix the 4 for £6 offers and it’s gu

you do have to make sure you select the ones with the 4 for £6 labels, I did it once, they are clearly marked so not a rip off.
It’s the craft IPA cans and some of the Belgian beers that are priced individually.
Also a great range of premium quality beers on the offer & at £1.50 each, beers like Champion, Broadside, West Indian Guinness and many others ,we can’t complain at those prices and they haven’t increased for years.
I’ll be shopping there as usual.

Was working in Hale Barns, just next to a Booth's store, and, as well as a great selection of local and national bottled and canned beers, they also had a very comprehensive selection of gluten free beers, which my colleague was very thankful for.
They also had 330ml bottles of Dead Pony Club for £1 each.... I say had, cos I cleaned them out of it...!!!
Don't think it's a national chain, but it did seem to champion local suppliers, and at a very competitive price.

The shelves above and below were all marked 4 for £6 and all the ones I bought were in that area and not price marked. RIP off.
But more importantly stop trying to prove me a moron. 😢

No independents near me, but im hoping that if I can get enough beer brewed/conditioning I’ll never have to buy shop beer again! (Ish)

Don't imagine it's just UK supermarkets. I would say that I've had to argue the toss two out of three times on visiting a certain branch of Intermarché, where the staff are seemingly trained in ripping off the punter. There's no such thing as BOGOF, the best you can hope for is buy two and get the third free. The third item frequently goes through as something quite unrelated.

Got caught out at waitrose today, it said 3 for £5 on speciality beers between £1.80 and £2.50, got to the till and didnt get the offer applied, Looked online and turns out its only on the 330s and I'd picked up an erdinger dunkel weizenbock 500ml that wasnt in it 🤦‍♂️ wasnt clear as the offer was on the whole shelf

Don't let it happen again. As Scotty said in one of the Star Trek films.
"Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me".

I buy a lot of malt whisky from Sainsbury’s. My selection choice is that I only buy the ones on special offer.

Got back one week and found I’d been charged full price (about £8 more). Went back about two weeks later with my receipt and they checked their records. They confirmed the overcharge and gave met the £8 refund.

Worth checking and keeping your receipts.
