Listen to the OP. This is his thread. Or is this your forum now?

Its not my forum but i will ask what has this to do with whether the nurses deserve more than 1% as this was the post i referred to when i said lets not go back down the tory bashing road again.

My issue is they have found the money to waste 37 billion on trace on trace . You could literally give every adult in the uk a new smartphone and pay them 100 to check in for the same money. And chuck wheel barrels of money to their mates for unusable ****.

The OP has stated what his intention was, and it's at odds with whatever your agenda is.

That post has everything to do with it. It's looking at affordability, which is at the heart of the discussion. I'm sure you're smart enough to not need it spelled out.

You didn't answer my question.

I did. It wasn't a particularly long post, and it wasn't particularly complex but I'll say it again. It's about affordability and how the ***** in charge can find money when it suits them to spunk good money after bad.

When affordability is given as an argument against giving nurses more than 1% pay rise, then it would be ******* stupid not to look at affordability of other government projects.

Is that clear enough for you?

Do you really need to swear to get your point across? give me a shout if you would like a hand putting your toys back into your pram. ;)

We are all well aware the government wasted money its been documented here many times in the many threads but that is water under the bridge we cannot go back and make that money available now so how do we pay the nurses more than the 1% they have said they can afford how much do you want as no one seems to be giving a figure just that 1% is not enough.

Money is available if there a will.

Apparently I do need to.

Again you didn't answer my question maybe i should be the one swearing.

So lets shake the famous magic money tree Teresa May said doesn't exist how much do you want as no one seems to be giving a figure just that 1% is not enough.

Try telling that to the government. They seem happy to find and spunk money when it suits them.

You're being wilfully ignorant.

Really, i answer every point you make instead of dodging the ones that don't suit why don't you give it a shot!

I will try again -

It's not about how much I want. Thankfully what the UK government decides to pay nurses in England has little bearing on me.

You might want to check how much money the government has miraculously found since that ridiculous quote from May.

For some reason i thought from an earlier post you were a nurse so i will change my question what do you think the nurses should get if 1% is not enough?

I am a nurse. I'm a nurse in Scotland. A double figure increase would be appropriate. Realistically 5-6% is achievable.

If they increase income tax we can all play our part in paying back nurses without the need for a money tree. I would suggest reducing or eliminating the tax free threshold so that everybody can contribute.
If they got the tax avoiders mostly their backers to pay their tax as well as Amazon etc then they could easily pay the nhs staff a decent wage.

I personally feel that we ALL owe a debt though. Everyone should contribute, as everyone has benefitted and will continue to do so. It’s easy to expect a few big corporations to pay up. But this is bigger than that. It’s about us ALL settling up.
