These people obviously don't know how things have moved on it doesn't take many months/years to make a vaccine these days like it used to but the tin hat wearing public will never accept that even thought it has been explained many times over.
I would agree with you here, but the weird thing is this woman is a scientist at the Weizmann, a top science and research institution. I can't remember her area of study, granted it wasn't medical science, but I'd still imagine there'd be a good semblance of critical thinking towards these matters.

All I can say is there must be millions of people in the world like her (same or similar job) if the vaccine is known to be dangerous surely someone would have made an official statement.

On a more serious note, how can a normal thinking person do something that would harm another person i personally cannot get my head round that choice or not

Narcissists , the world is full of people like that and a lot of them hide it well they have a mask but deep down they only care about themselves how other people are just tools and play things.

I think Chippy nailed it, two types of people the morons who believe bill gates is putting chips in to us and we live on a dirt flat pizza earth.. and those who are worried about this being a trial drug still which I think to an extend is a valid anxiety..

With regards to the argument that you might catch or pass covid after a vaccine.
However remember you might still get hit by the proverbial bus even if you look both ways before crossing the road - but that is no reason to stop looking.

Also re the above post - has anyone got the recipe for the HomeBrew that took Neil Armstrong to the moon ?

I have heard all the conspiracy theories from my brother but I have also heard from people with genuine reasons. One retired nurse I was talking to refused on the basis that it was rushed through and could have unknown long term side effects.
He never once told me not to get it and I respect his decision as stated above its his personal choice.

But that’s the thing. It hasn’t been “rushed through”. Every step was taken that every other vaccine development did. Except in this case far more money was thrown at it and there were far more active cases to collect the data super quick to determine if the vaccine was working. Based on the fact that the AZ vaccine uses well known technology it was always going to be a safe bet. Some of this dumbass no backed up information anti vax people make me cross.

One guy told me he wouldn’t have a vaccination because it changed your dna. Dear god 🤦🏻‍♂️

when you have had the jab you are still 20 percent at risk of catching Covid but I believe if you do catch it you also have a lot less chance of dying from it.

Exactly while no vaccine Is 100% effective I will take the significant increase in the odds that I won’t end up in hospital or worse. Incidentally the flu vaccine is generally far less effective than the COVID vaccine but I still get it each year as well even a small decrease in the chances of ending up with flu seems worth the slight inconvenience of having to get a flu jab each year. Long term I am assuming that just as I get an annual flu vaccine I am probably going to need to get an annual COVID one although ideally long term they will given them either at the same time or better still as a combined jab (but no idea if that is considered feasible or not).

Very true, but of course our immune systems are not 100% accurate so no vaccine ever will be.
For example, after being in the virus watch study I found I had developed N-antibodies from an asymptotic infection sometime between September and December - but it took more than three weeks after my 1st AZ vaccine to develop S-antibodies.
One thing to note with new vaccine technology is that there appear to have been fewer serious side effects with the mRNA versions than the modified viral vector ones. For example, the AZ appears to be causing blood clots because the adenovirus delivers spike DNA into the cells and as this breaks down small fragments are being transcribed which appears to be triggering a very rare but incredibly severe reaction. This can potentially be fixed too, which of course is great news but the mRNA delivery systems don’t appear to be having any of these issues.
Some interesting data here:

It’s the body’s response to the spike proteins which is causing the greater systemic issues in those who experience them. Some of the safety concerns being raised by clinicians are in relation to what could be associated side effects which haven’t been identified as being ‘typical’ side effects of the vaccine but they’re nto being recorded as such. The open letter I linked to earlier based on reviews of the yellow card system are in relation to on going data analysis. It’s interesting reading and it’s good to be aware of emerging safety concerns/data as more and more people get the vaccine as we can see more trends than in the initial trial population over time.

You should see the 'No shortage of Halfwits' in North America...why is this on the booze forum?
