Feeling a bit miffed, the Amazon order for the magnetic sheets arrived and they aren't magnetic at all, won't stick to anything, really disappointed. So I've ordered this instead MagFlex® 600mm Wide Flexible Magnetic Sheet - Black/Green Chalkboard | from First4magnets.com which is a bit more expensive when taking account of the pens and needs cut to size, however it should be a bit better. I've been in meetings all day so I haven't had the opportunity to play with the Fimo yet - and I'm working all day Sunday so not sure how much I'll get done this weekend.

Yesterday late afternoon I had an entertaining hour playing with the Fimo clay 😄 then baked it while attached to the tray at 110 deg C. It's not quite the sharp white neat finish I'd like so I think I'll probably end up finishing it with silicone sealant (though I don't have any at the mo'). A few points, the Fimo needs quite a bit of squidging and folding till it's pliable as it's very stiff. Once baked it is really hard, and quite challenging to sand to a finish edge. If I was doing this again I'd spend longer aiming for the finished edge before baking it. It will though do the job nicely and at some point I'll drill some more holes in the fridge and bolt it through the door as I don't trust screws not to come loose.

I realise I've already posted on my brew thread but I should have put here a picture of the magnetic blackboard cut to fit on this thread for completeness. I used brown wrapping paper to score with my thumbnail along the curve to cut out then cut the plastic with a craft knife. I still have to fit the drip tray, but need 80mm bolts since the 60mm don't fit all the way through the door.

Nice
Which product did you end up buying? Do chalk pens work on it, I.e. do they rub off easily?

It was the magflex sheet ordered from first 4 magnets above. There's lots left over which I think I'm going to put on the fermenting fridge to keep notes on. Unexpectedly it arrived in the post as a very thin and large parcel, ie not rolled up! It was really easy to cut and sticks like glue to the fridge so it doesn't slip. Chalk pens work just fine as shown and on the test piece I tried wipes off with a damp cloth. I do have colour chalk pens but haven't tried them as I quite liked the sleek white/silver/black look for now.

Thank you. Just found the above link. I will take a look

Sadly I just fall asleep - particularly if I have a pint of the Thrice is Nice, can hardly keep my eyes open 😴, so I do tend to drink smaller amounts. The zest Cerveza I hope to be kegging next weekend is a bit more sensible at 4.9% just to reassure you!

Looks excellent Anna. You're far more practical than I am. Mine is line spaghetti inside, and I used blackboard paint for the outside.

That’s the drip tray fitted which is ok, not quite as sharp as I’d like but it’s pretty good. Bolted through the door with washers on the inside so v solid 😄. I’ve not used silicone sealant so I can take it off if required in future. This I think is the kegerator now finished😊.

Wee bit of an upgrade to the kegerator. Added individual secondary regulators and can still fit 3 kegs in. I’ve also disconnected the line I use for counter pressure filling as I’ll only use that when required. A note to anyone using the keg land regulators - they have to be used the right way round - I fitted them all in and then couldn’t work out why I couldn’t control the pressure. Then had a 😖 Doh moment and had to take them all apart again and turn them round

Looked at this thread to find out what a kegerator meant. Loads of nice pictures. I have a kegerator, previously known as the fridge with kegs inside.

I have a really bad feeling I’ve killed my fridge with screwing in the regulators. The light inside comes on but the compressor isn’t running at all. I’m going to leave it alone overnight and see in the morning but this doesn’t look good. Currently feeling a bit miserable about it.
