Hello from the US.

I've been searching for a decent but affordable Tabletop Cider/fruit press. I only produce 1 gallon batches at any given time, so it doesn't need to be anything be and extravagant.

However, the supply houses here in the US don't seem to supply much equipment specifically for cider making, and the presses they do carry have no reviews. I am guessing (hoping) that because cider making is a bit more popular in the UK, there might be more resources to select from?

The products on Amazon all seem to be from sketchy suppliers out of China, and have several reports of pieces of metal getting ground into the fruit, so I am nixing those from consideration.

I am leaning toward the Ferrari 5.5L all metal press - I have their dual lever corker, which i have been happy with.

We stock these at work. They work quite well, although you need to crush the apples quite well first.
They seem fairly well made, although I have had one returned as one of arms on the "T" handle sheared off.
For smaller batches of cider, I would be looking for a 6 litre wooden press. (Here in the UK they are much cheaper than the stainless/aluminium versions).

Welcome to the forum, BTW...

Thanks,

I plan to use a processor to shred up my apples and pears first.

I think the wooden stave presses are cheaper here, as well, but I feel like the wood would require more maintenance and not last as long
