I thought it might be nice to have a space for those completely different things that perhaps explain why we've been a bit quiet here or haven't been brewing 😄.

Our evening and weekends at home this last few weeks have been spent building a fruit and veg patch at the end of the garden, taking up the patchy turf and putting in new planters and some fruit bushes. We are both a wee bit tired but chuffed with this and have been enjoying the fruits (literally) of our labours already. The greenhouse is definitely the OH's domain and is happy to potter in there in the afternoons. I am super chuffed with the fresh ingredients for cooking though 😍.

Love this, well done 👏

We’re always pottering in the garden. Each year we end up dedicating a bit more of it to growing things. I’m eyeing up a poly tunnel next after seeing @Clint ’s thread

The soil looks better than my claypit, I too have being doing a major revamp removing tree stumps, Sheds and erecting fences it really does take up your time.
Well Done it looks good athumb..

It looks fantastic Anna - you certainly have some energy. We planted loads of veggies this year but when it came to looking after them I realised I’d rather go sailing

I have loads of interests and find it difficult to make time for all of them. I tend to have more time for brewing in the cooler months.

I've been busy lately creating a garden building. Getting there now, only really finishing touches, decorating and electrics to do and then make some decking at the front

Wow that looks really quite a large garden room and building it in amongst the trees will have brought its own challenges I guess. Is this going to be a home office?

Absolutely fantastic job - boy oh boy that must have been a heck of a lot of work. Hope you've got a ton of chipped bark or whatever to go on there to keep the weeds down and the water in? I like the forest bark but more recently it tends to be the output of the garden waste shredder that I use :-)

Wowers! I'd love to know a bit more about how you went about making this - PM sent :hat:

It might be. It's probably going to be multi use. Somewhere for the kids (or me!) to escape to and outdoor entertaining will be the main uses I suspect. Going to put a sofa bed in it so it can be pressed into use as extra sleeping space. 😀

Oh pig 😱 we’ve a bumper crop of plums again. We harvested about half of them today - about 13kg of plums - sheesh. We are still eating the plum jam from 2 years ago, and the wine last year was a bit naff and was lots of work. We have persuaded each other that it might be best to make plum and ginger jam - so including the sugar I now have 18kg of it sitting there to boil tomorrow and still a bowl left over since they won’t fit in my pan.
It was after I’d pitted them, mixed in the sugar and lemon juice that I remembered I’d cleared out the stock of jam jars (I didn’t swear but was sorely tempted). Quick Amazon order for 24 1lb jars and I’ll put the rest in my big kilner jars and think about it later. Then think about how I’m going to distribute it …. Wil have to do a nice label though.!

I have a greengage tree in the garden. The fruit is absolutely delicious, but like all plums it all comes at once. Fortunately it makes fantastic jam, but you can only eat or give away so much 😀
