12% “lovely,
says it all really!
Let us know when you wake up from that.
Meanwhile, mines a late starter Exmoor Gold.

Yeah good beer, 'nuff said.

It was another daughter stage performance night, with accompanying ferrying of her 93y/o grandmother to observe.
Long may it continue.
Looking at the image reminds me of something I'm somewhat pleased about.
I carried that pint glass from pouring it outside in the garage to the table indoors without a single spillage.
Not a drop.
And I closed and locked the garage door along the way.
No DTs as yet then,
can't be long now though.

Drinking a 12% beer after a good few hours in the pub possibly not the smartest move. Ah well we live and learn 😂

I didn’t post last night because we had friends round but it was English Bitter all the way.

Today I’m starting by having a taste of my Belgian Tripel before I send some out. At two-weeks it isn’t conditioned yet but it is still very drinkable.

The colour is a nice gold, carbonation is good but maybe still a little light for the style, and you can see it isn’t clear yet. The aroma is slightly peppery, has an orange zest vibe, maybe a hint of clove and a touch of honey sweetness. The flavour is quite like the aroma but maybe not as clean yet due to the short time it’s been conditioning. Despite it’s strength at a little over 8% and the sweet aroma, there’s no sense of alcohol and the finish is dry with a little bitterness. Even before I’ve finished the glass though I already know I’ve been drinking a fairly high alcohol beer. 🥴

I hope you’re all having a lovely Sunday afternoon folks. Cheers! 🍻

Well why not?
It is 'day-off Sunday', for some of we lucky ones that is.
Right up to stopping, I worked in acute hospital healhcare.
No such thing as Friday nights, Saturday, Sunday nor even B/H days or nights 'guaranteed free'.
Same applies to lots of different people and roles.
And always has, I suppose we are all very well aware now, particularly highlighted by Covid.
So drink more beer 🍻 whenever you are able!

Yes, I saw your post about the 12% beer after an evening at the pub. 😂
I was misinformed about the length of time we were going to the pub for. 2 hrs she said. Then 4 bottles of Prosecco between 3 ladies later we were still there 7 hrs later. I started the day off by drinking as if I was only going to be there for 2 hrs 🤷‍♂️

I made a similar mistake in a night club where drinks (all bottles) were a silly price for the first two hours. The bar staff saw me walking toward the bar and had a bottle already cracked by the time I reached them. The beer lasted no more than 10 minutes and back I went. My wife almost carried me home that night 😂

😂😂
My wife informed me this morning that after we left the pub we went to the Chinese takeaway she went in and when she came out she couldn’t see me anywhere apparently I was fast asleep in the corner of a bus stop 🤦‍♂️
on top of all I came home and had to get a stout that was left chilling into the fermenter and pitch the yeast. I had to go out first thing this morning and check all was good as I don’t remember doing it

Thank heavens for brewing “muscle memory”!

Nice, I was listening to a podcast and they were talking about this beer. True Thoughts are one of my favourite record labels and it peaked my interest when they were talking about a collaboration which would maybe get the name out to different people for the brewery and the record label. Who was the brewery again? Nice beer then?
It was a Collab between unbarred and somebody. That's about 5 unbarred beers I've tried and liked them all. Think maybe they're based in Brighton.

Three Tuns brown ale and same funky taste, I wonder if its me or the beer Lol

I find that many of the older English breweries that have their own yeast often have a very slight phenolic character to them; I can detect it in Bateman's yeast, as well as a couple of others. Not Belgian levels of funkiness, you understand, but a slight hint that is very pleasant.

Bit then, my taste buds are wierd, so that might be complete balderdash. 😁
