Dates to Remember

This day next month the date will be 2/2/22. I remember the day it was 12/3/45 would you believe! I was attending a Prep School in Yorkshire at the time, run very much like Wackford Squeers’ Dotheboys Hall – canings were administered by the Headmaster in a ritual held in the Gym every Monday morning after prayers, the miscreants having to bend over the vaulting horse.

I remember staring for a full minute at the wicker waste-paper basket in the class room where the teacher had just informed us of this unique fact, and thinking that will help me recall this day for the rest of my life. Funny old world, isn’t it.

I remember 12-1-21 catching my eye when i wrote it in my log book last year.

I guess 22-2-22 will do the same.

I remember on 6/6/66 as a schoolboy discussing with my best mate what we might be doing when it was 7/7/77.

Which was why I got married on 7/7/77.

The only sad thing is that everyone now remembers 7/7 for the bombings in London in 2005

It was 2011, but my Casio LCD watch fortunately doesn't display the year, even though you have to put it in when setting up.
Only lasted for a second, so had to be paying attention.
Fortunately that watch has an alarm too.
