The food of geniuses!

Neither of my local Chinese takeaways do them any more. They clearly use a standard chipper or, worse, bagged frozen chips. They are crisp, but don't taste like the old-style ones. They are a real faff to make though, that has to be said.

Used to be an amazing kebab house in Rushholm near Hulme hall… Abdul’s - used to recognise us and give us extra chilli sauce LoL

Abdul's is still in Rusholme. I've never been in. Everywhere along the curry mile looks tatty and dirty. That puts me off. Kebabs are, for me, a 'drunk out my skull' purchase. In the sober light of day kebabs mostly look disgusting.

I think I'd try this recipe rather than buy a spice mix Doner kebab recipe | BBC Good Food

So we've accidentally started a new tradition in our house. Fakeaway Chinese food every Friday instead of fish and chips (we never used to have that, it's just many people do).

We've found the most amazing website and had to share. There's a diabetic friendly / low carb category too. Everything we cook from there is the bees knees. Jim is cooking beef Lo-mein from it tonight.

Thanks for this tip. I checked out the website and made black pepper chicken from it on Saturday night. Very delicious. Will try others!
