A belated post - I took my 10L keg of Cali Common to a friends on Saturday to watch the footy, and hope that the beer went down as well as the bottled batches did for me. As my friends are more partial to commercial pilsner and hoppy IPA type beers, I was pleasantly surprised that they asked for seconds, and thirds, and fourths...! When it was time to go home, I nearly threw the keg over my head as I picked it up, as it was so unexpectedly light! I think there's only trub left over!

I'll definitely do this brew again - it was a Cali Common from a Jon Finch All Grain recipe, bought from TMM. Very drinkable and light. I'd highly recommend this one.

Shhhhhh! Naughty pic.

Light mild.

Been to a few cocktail bars with wifey today ( it is her birthday celebration after all!) but I can't stand anymore pineapple snot and goats testicle based drinks, so I thought I'd give this a go.

Wolds Top's Barrel something. Ale / whiskey blend, so almost a cocktail. Jury is out on this one...

Edit - Barrel wave. Couldn't remember there for a minute; must be the cocktails!

The weather today has been a right pain with beautiful hot sun one minute and lashing rain the next - occasionally accompanied by crashing thunder.

By the weight of the keg I only have 4 or 5 pints of mild left so I might as well finish it off and keg that stout I’ve had fermenting nearly four weeks now. I also have a guest ale I need to get to - busy, busy! 😂

Time for that guest ale before I’ve had too many! This is a cool named 4.8% Hefeweizen from @Tess Tickle.

In appearance it’s everything you’d expect, and want, from a wheat beer. Well carbonated, hazy, golden, and a big white airy head.

The aroma is predominantly banana with a little bready malt and a touch of spice.

The moderately strong banana flavour is supported by spicy hops having a floral quality. Bitterness is soft. The malt flavour is actually more grainy in flavour than bready and gives a slightly sweet impression. The beer has a clean dry finish but from the mouthfeel and body (medium) I don’t think this beer finished with a very low gravity. I’m not detecting any off flavours or faults.

The beer is well brewed and the recipe is well formulated in my view.

I do enjoy a wheat beer and I enjoyed this one very much. Thank you!

I’ve been really looking forward to this Märzen from @Alastair70, which I’ve had for a while as I was working my way through the other member’s beers in chronological order of sending lol.

My first impressions were that it smells amazingly malty which I love. Very similar to a speckled hen malt-wise but on the lager side. Hope that makes sense. I’ve never had a Märzen before, so didn’t really know what to expect. I can smell black tea as well, in a good way though, nothing bad.

It’s a copper coloured beer with light but persistent carbonation and a good head. I think this level of carbonation suits the beer very well. It has light bitterness which again is just right for me.

The flavour tastes like toast that has been toasted just right. I like mine medium brown 😬.

The maltiness lingers for a little while and then fades away which makes you want another sip. Absolutely can’t fault this in any way. It’s another great one. Well played Alastair. We’re a big fan. May have to put this into my schedule now!

Got the taste for the beer now, and oh my life, this is good!

Obi Wan Cannoli stout at 7.5%. We got it from Brew York tap room when we visited on Sunday. It’s on the sweet side, but has lashings of cinnamon and vanilla.

Could be my new favourite and might have to bin off my beloved chocolate and banana vocation stout! 🙈😲
