Trying @Alastair70 marzen sorry competition winning marzen
Pours crystal clear with a nice white head and smells of a toasty malt aroma
First taste is bready malt and a slight biscuit flavour with a light bitterness and that distinct lager taste in the finish. One sip leads to another and then the glass is done.
not my normal style of beer but I really enjoyed it and if I had another I would happily drink it.
cheers for this. 👍

He makes a good looking beer.

This morning I am sporting a vicious headache after last night's epic performance...I went to watch a friend play in his band for an hour ,had a beer there, then a friend who was with the misuse and myself tempted me to the pub. There I had three or four pints then came home and drank four DIPAs...
Tonight it's curry night and we're having visitors so it'll probably be a bit messy.

A lowish alcohol 3.9% last lunchtime beer from the Croatian Dragon Brewery.
The hopping gives Citrus and lightly pined aromas,
(read it off the can).

But it truly is refreshing.
So how to attempt to make this style at home?
Just swap the ingredients from malt to bags of hops, I suppose.

I posted this last night so following up with we both liked it and will be buying it again.

SWMBO found this in Tesco earlier so added it to my usual weekend beers (picture from google images) if it tastes as good as the description it'll a good one.

A limited edition cask beer which proved a huge hit when unveiled by Shepherd Neame last year, is now available to buy in bottle.

New Dawn Citrus IPA was created last May for Cask Club, Shepherd Neame’s contemporary cask ale initiative which sees a new beer released each month.

Brewed with Mandarina hops sourced from the Hallertau region of Germany, New Dawn also has dried sweet orange zest added during the brewing process. It is a straw-coloured beer with a mellow smooth bitterness, hints of orange and a refreshing citrus hit courtesy of the Mandarina hops and orange zest. It offers a sweet, slightly drying palate, and is ideally served lightly chilled.

New Dawn Citrus IPA is now available in a 500ml bottle (5% ABV) from Shepherd Neame’s online shop and from selected Tesco stores nationwide.

Shepherd Neame National Account Manager Amanda Beer said: “With its exciting flavour profile and vibrant look, New Dawn achieved an outstanding national on-trade reach throughout May last year. This success enabled us to present the brand to Tesco, and we are delighted to announce that it has just been listed in 241 Tesco stores nationwide. It is a fantastic beer and we are delighted to make it a permanent part of our range.”

Crossmyloof Dunkel I brewed this back in January when it was cold enough to brew larger’sand the like without temperature control but have only now tapped the mini keg. And it’s turned out really well, quite malty if I was comparing it to a commercial beer it would probably be Flensburger Dunkel just a good all round beer.

Sounds nice, looks great!

Scotch time
Always wondered what Firestone Walker Pivo Pils was like compared to the new interpretations of Italian Pils. I was listening to a podcast recently and they were saying it's not selling as strongly as previously.
Funny I have been looking for pivo pils too but have not seen it yet. 805 is the big selling Firestone walker beer out here, I have not tried that one yet though either. I will keep an eye out for it.

Nice lager from Newbarns using Plumage Archer malt

Surprising I thought it would be well distributed. What area do you live in?

I'm in Denver Colorado, the problem is there are 400+ breweries here and they limit the selection of out of state breweries to a few selections at the liquor superstore by me. I'm sure I will come across it at some point.
