My second batch is still bubbling since I started it on 14th Feb. Only got a few bottles of my first batch left and I have been rationing them. It's probably my favourite kit so far and I've tried a fair few.

I'm experiencing something similar with the Hazy IPA kit. Bubbled away nicely for the first day or so but slowed down dramatically (stopped ?) after pitching the hops on Day 1.
Now on Day 8 and trying to be patient but not sure whether to add more yeast or not.
Mind you, it's sitting at c1.007 !
How did your's turn out ?
Mine turned out just fine (only 2ltr left now!) Leave it until day 11 then add the 2nd lot of dry hops, bottle or keg 3 days after.

It was too cold to BIAB so I got one of these which I split once finished. Half into a 10l corny and the rest I bottled. Be interesting to see the difference. I'll have to remember how it tasted out of the corny, mind, as it really didn't last long 😁

Finally got my hands on one of these. I’m going to be putting it on later today. Looking forward to this.

I know a lot has been said about this already. But can I please add to the praise. What an amazing beer. I’m loving it. I’ll definitely be doing this again.

UPDATE:
Turned out really well. Lovely taste and, although initially darker than I expected, it is lightening up nicely now.
Have to get another batch on the go in time for summer . . .

I have this kit on the go at the moment... Starting gravity was 1045 and it bubbled away well for the first couple of days getting down to 1020 quite quickly but since then we're approaching the 3 week mark and it's maybe dropped to 1019. Not sure what's happened but it smells amazing...

It sounds like a great kit this, but I'm the sort of brewer who rarely wants exactly the same beer twice. If I wasn't an AG brewer I would probably rustle up an extract NEIPA from scratch - the kit just contains extract, hops and yeast at the end of the day. Putting those things together yourself enables you to use different hops and yeasts and vary it each time. Fresher hops probably too. And save a few quid I suspect. Buy a base one can kit, a lager or blonde kit probably, add some wheat extract, a little sugar perhaps, and choose any hops combination you like.

The Northern Brewer Fruit Bazooka NEIPA kit uses a pound of flaked oats which you steep for 30 mins and then boil. Maybe do that. Or just use a hazy yeast and rely on that and the hops for the haze.

Example:

20 Litres 4.5% ish
1 x 1.7kg can lager or pale kit
500g wheat DME
500g Brewing Sugar or (extra) Light DME
200g hops (Citra, Mosaic, Galaxy, Amarillo, Sabro, Vic Secret, Azacca, Idaho 7, El Dorado, Bru-1, Simcoe, Ekuanot etc)
1 pack yeast - Verdant IPA, S-04, S-33, Clipper, Haze, Bry-97 etc.

Follow the Muntons Hazy instructions!

After all the hype, I had to give this kit a try. It seems I'm in the minority here (if not out on my own) but was quite underwhelmed. It's not bad, but I'm struggling to get through the keg. It seems they have added some wheat malt extract to the tins to achieve the haze and that seems to give it soft mouthfeel which I found a bit weird. Mine also had a noticeable alcohol taste which seemed harsh. For reference I used tap water with Harris Pure brew and brewed in ferm fridge at 20c for 2 weeks.

You're not alone. I'm not a massive fan of NEIPA. It's too much of an in-your-face assault of hop flavours to my liking - kind of similar to mixing an IPA with a bottle of tropical fruit juice from the supermarket. They're not offensive, just not to my particular taste

Got one of these on the go at the moment. Hope it's better than any BrewDog offering 😄

Regarding hop straining gave up on those stupid mesh bags ages ago. I now cold crash and use one of these:

Never have issues with clogging etc.

Available on eBay/Amazon/AliExpress etc.
What are these called, can't seem to find them anywhere. 😕

Horses for courses

I am going to attempt the Muntons Hazy IPA next week. I am going to stick with the kit instructions. However I have heard good things about the Verdant yeast - LALBREW® VERDANT IPA Dried Yeast 11g - The Malt Miller . Has anybody swapped out the yeast in this kit for another variety?
Yes mate did the kit when it first came out and swapped the yeast Lalbrew verdant ipa yeast and it was superb; best kit I’ve ever made; struggled to tell it the difference between a kit and all grain , go for it ; you won’t be disappointed 👍

Did you keg it or bottle?

Bottled the brew very carefully as these beers can oxidise very easily; only left a couple of centimetres of air space at top of each bottle 👍
If you bottle it in PET bottles, you can squeeze the bottle to remove most of the air space before capping tightly. This will reduce the amount if oxygen in contact with the beer and the space above it will be filled with CO2 as your beer carbonates.

I brewed this a couple of months ago after the great reviews on the forums and many YouTube clips (Partridge Brothers, Yorkshire homebrew etc).

I poured a pint after 2 weeks through the kegerator and it was thin, really lacking in hop aroma and I was actually disappointed after the great reviews, so I left it.

Wow, patience in home brewing is everything. 4 weeks in a corny, in the kegerator this is a great drink from a kit. Brilliant head retention, hop aroma that carries throughout the pint. Fuller almost PG/AG mouth feel. I have it on next to a bosses boss AG kit and to others, it's so close to the AG.

Very impressed

I too was very impressed with the muntons hazy ipa and will be doing another one soon. In the mean time one of my family purchased a bosses boss part mash kit from dark rock , it comes , the instruction say to add a kilo of brewing sugar to the kit which incidentally has a final gravity of 7%, my question to you or anyone that can help is when brewing this part mash kit could you leave the sugar out to lower the OG with no real change to the balance of the kit , I feel sure that the partridge brothers did just that when they reviewed this kit.cheers in advance guys 👍
