Here we go again.

Face mask rules return at Cornwall NHS hospitals
Hospital patients, staff and visitors will be required to wear face masks again, as cases of Covid-19 have risen "significantly".
The rule will apply at all of Cornwall's hospitals, minor injury units and treatment centres from Monday, 4 July, health bosses said.
Two new sub-variants were blamed for the rise in cases locally and nationally, while services were already "under sustained pressure".
The measure will remain under review.
The Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust (RCHT) said there had been steady increases in the number of healthcare staff testing positive for Covid-19, adding to additional strain on resources.
Kim O'Keeffe, dual chief nurse for the trust and for Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (CFT) said: "Recently, we've seen a rise in cases again and it's crucial we use the tools at our disposal to help protect not only our patients, but visitors and our colleagues too."
"Making mask wearing a requirement once again for staff is a decision we've taken at a time when we were already under sustained system pressure.
She asked that people "be kind to staff, who've been working incredibly hard to protect patients throughout the pandemic."
CFT and RCHT's current policy on visiting arrangements remains unchanged.
Staff, patients, and visitors are still asked to continue to wash hands frequently with soap and water and use the alcohol gel provided, in addition to wearing facemasks.

I think the only blessing is this variant doesn't kill like the original one did i don't know if that's down to the vaccine or its weakened over time.

I think a lot of that is down to viral biology, unsuccessful viruses decimate their hosts then die out. Also, vaccination and the widespread availability of critical care have gone a long way to mitigate the potential consequences of a covid infection.

But don’t take my word for it, I failed 3rd MB Microbiology twice!

SWMBO and I are cautious with a capital “K”!

We’ve each had four jabs and have never given up wearing masks in crowded places like shops, cafés, trains etc! We also sanitise our hands whenever we get or open a parcel and today I took delivery of another 500ml of Purell sanitising gel!

Why? Because:
  • At 79+ we are classed as “vulnerable”.
  • Neither of us believed that Covid had “gone away” despite the relaxation of the rules,
  • We suspect that Boris and his cronies were more interested in getting people back to work than protecting them when they relaxed the rules.
So far we have avoided catching Covid. However, we know that we have been lucky so far and sympathise with anyone who has contracted the ailment.
:hat:

Far from a cold I can tell you for sure....Nasty stuff..
Yeah I know, my daughter's got at ATM for the second time and she was here with us just 5 days ago... She's had long covid too since the first time. Not good.

It's rampant round here and everyone's acting as if it's just another cold. No masks, no distancing etc.
I think that apply's to 95% of the population, my misses and i do our own thing we have a bottle of sanitiser in each door bin in the car for when we out and about masks in the glovebox for busy places, as far as we are aware we have not had covid so will carry on what we are doing, also i believe it will be with us for a long time to come,

It doesn’t help that their is no legal obligation to isolate anymore, I had COVID this week and thankfully it was mild, so I simply opted to work from home but legally their wouldn’t have being anything to stop my employer from insisting I come in, like wise I would have being fully in the clear legally if I had gone to a crowded pub, or supermarket. It really isn’t surprising that it is in the rise again.

They should never have relaxed the mask and distance rules we had all got used to wearing them and *keeping away from others in shops and on public transport etc and although we all moaned about it we just got on with it.

*To be honest i wish the distance rule was permanent thing i hate it when people invade your space in queues especially those with stinking breath first thing in a morning (usually in the petrol station)

Have now been in the UK for 5 months, and am amazed how uninformed the populace is regarding Covid ... I am generalising of course ...
However, the majority of people I have spoken to are ignorant of some or all of the following ...
- the death rate from covid is hardly different from that of 'flu'
- haven't a clue with regards to "early treatment protocols"
- haven't a clue re the necessity of Zinc; quertecine; vits C & D etc
- never heard of the "Frontline Doctors" who have been successfully treating and curing covid (two that I am acquainted with ... Dr. Shankar Chetty in South Africa and Dr. Jacqui Stone in Zimbabwe (more about Jacqui later) both of whom have to date treated well over 7000 each ..
Not forgetting Dr. Tess Lawrie in the UK
- haven't a clue that there are two drugs that are readily available (off'patent !! ), very safe, and extremely low cost (thus no big profits for big pharma) ... namely 'hydroxychloroquine' and 'ivermectin' .... that are EXTREMELY efficacious in the treatment of covid (my wife and I can vouch for the HUGE turnaround we experienced with ivermectin)
- I could go on but I am sure you get my point

Instead I have found that people here, when they get covid, do very little to help themselves ... forgive me I am generalising again
My sister in law was one of those I spoke to in this regard she was doing nothing .... got her on to quertecine and Zinc (the twno need to go togethet)
I have also noticed the fearful ... wearing marks in public yet climbing on abd off busses, handling supermarket trolleys with ungloved hands ...!!!???

The fact is that covid is now ENDEMIC throughout the world, none of us will be able to escape it... in one form or another ... either mild or serious.
About my experience ...
Living in South Africa by mid to late 2020 evidence as emerging of doctors who had observed that there was a very low infection rate in regions where malaria was prevalent and treated with hydroxychloraquine... ditto 'Nile River blindness' and Ivermectin
Their trials with these two drugs gave startlingly excellent results (I've already mentioned Dr's. Chetty and Stone, but there are many many others.
Because I have had malaria on numerous occasions since I was a child I was well acquainted with hydroxychloroquine ... having self dosed with it on many occasions ...
So when Pfizer et-al were burbling about it being dangerous to use I knew that it was TOTAL BS !!!
And I asked the question "Why?"
Profits of course ... off-patent and cheap ditto ivermectin
By then the efficacy of the mRNA so-called vaccine was seriously in question (today people with multiple jabs are getting covid including that arch-advocate Fauci)
My wife and I decided we would not go that route, and instead stocked up on the vits etc already mentioned.
We also decided to follow Dr. Stones protocols if and when the need arose ...
Which it did in March 2021 .... in my case ... I started to feel somewhat run-down, and put it down a cold which lingered for about 10 days and included a debilitating lethargy .... I did not make the connection, (,I am a bit thick you know) ..

Untill one.morning my wife woke up and told me she had full-blown covid ... she had many of the classic symptoms ..
We started on the vits and I shot off to get the ivermection through a connection and we self dosed ...
(One dose per day for 5 days)
And ...
Just as Jacqui Stone (and others)said ... "within 12 to 48 hours after an early (!!!) and appropriate (!!!) dose you will feal markedly improved"
The very next morning when we awoke we both felt marjedly better
My wife's symptoms had dissipated considerably, and I no longer felt that debilitating weariness.
After 3 doses (on day four) my wife declared herself completely recovered !!
I did not feel old self untill 7 days after starting the treatment ( I presume because I had incubated the lurgy for longer ?? )

I would recommend that you all read up on early treatment protocols
Stock up on what is required and keep it in your medicine cabinet because you will need it one day !!
PS my wife and I are in our mid 70's haven't taken the jab and never will, have a supply of ivermection and then other stuff mentioned
And in this regard we are no different to many many friends and neighbours amongst whom we lived and socialised 'normally'(ie hugs, handshakes, kisses, meals etc. And no masks)
Many of whom caught covid and shrugged it off with the same treatments I've mentioned
Will we get it again??? Pretty certain we will but having had it once we we now know what to expect and will deal with it
One last thing .... compared to malaria, covid is chickenshit :)

Totally agree with it. Glad to be living my life as I wish. Totally agree on the anti-viral drugs that can be used. 2 elderly relatives caught in whilst having hospital treatment (chemo and dialysis). Both late 80s both had anti viral medication and both said it was nothing worse than a mild cold.

Thanks but your enthusiastic anecdotal evidence doesn't stand up to scrutiny Ivermectin: How false science created a Covid 'miracle' drug
As we do not know each other, the question of 'trust' arises ...
I merely recounted my 'First Hand' experience in self treating with Ivermectin,
- My wife cured within 4 days and me within a week
That experience no one can take away from me ... least of all the bbc.
One thing I did not mention in my original post is that the quantity of Ivermectin that my wife and I used cost us 90 Rand ...
The equivalent of £4.50 for the two of us !!!
Sneer, if you like, but you cannot take that away from us either !!
This illustrates a reason why the medical fraternity are pushing for drugs still under patent like REMDESIVIR (quite useless compared to the other two btw) which in South Africa costs a whopping fifty thousand rand !!!
(£2500.oo)
Each to their own, I suppose

All i will say is, i have had 3 jabs and never had covid and no i don't stay in and hide behind the sofa, so far this year my wife and i have had 2 holidays another in 2 weeks then one in September o i had a heart attack as well, we will follow the science
My wife and I also had 3 jabs but it finally got us in the end so always be on your guard unless you are immune.....

Hi Gerry hope you are both ok, i must admit i have become a little complacent i don't use a mask anymore unless i have to and i respect those who do, but we have hand gel in the door bins of the car and little one's we carry round with us and we use them a lot when going through doors ie toilets and shops, i do sometimes wonder if we are asymptomatic when you have it and don't show symptoms i say that because in my last job in the bakery my boss used to say how come you never get a cold or ill in 30 years i had less than 6 months off work, take care mate and stay safe
