Going back to kits?

I’m wondering if I’m in the minority here then, as I buy extract, yeast and hops separately and vary rarely do grain.
Currently I’ve got tins of Maria Otter extract and sometimes add small amounts of grain such as caramalt or Carapils etc depending on what I’m looking for.

Please Lord, let some of the people read my Posts BEFORE they start mumping!

On the Forum, I suggest that
you try searching for
“Kit Enhancers”.
I’ve highlighted the bit that means something!

That's as bad as expecting users to read the manual!!!

In case you hadn't taken Dutto's point, he was suggesting you search the forum.

Did you not see Clib's link in post previous to yours ? All you have to do is click on it 👍

“Sad” because all AG brewers say the same!

It’s a reasonable challenge. My AG brews ARE better than the brews I made with kits. The difference though may be that I now have a lot more experience than I had when I was making beer with kits.

I do still use a kit for cider and over the years that has never changed. All the people that drink it, love it.

It’s like wot they say:

“No good deed goes unpunished!”

:hat:
You have to accept all-grain brewers prefer all-grain brewing (or they wouldn’t do it 🤷‍♂️). Getting upset about all-grain brewers preferring all-grain brewing makes no more sense than getting angry about someone not having the same favourite colour as you. 😂

I haven't brewed (I do AG brews) for a few months - time pressures, so this thread piqued my interest.

I'm looking to brew a kit short so that I can put in a 19L corny

I have a few questions

1. I do not like hoppy ales, and I understand that brewing a short may increase the bitterness. I like beers at the maltier end but I'm not looking to brew a stout. I guess I'd be looking for a malty bitter / ale type thing or a Belgian brew. Give me your kit recommendations in this range if you have them please.

2. I only have a 15L FV. Can I brew/ferment to 15L then liquor back into the corny? I guess for 15L of "high(er) strength" wort, I'd need to make sure that the yeast is healthy and within its alcohol tolerance. I have a few different types of dry yeast so I can pitch a full packet or make a starter. After ferment, can I just bung, say, 4L of boiled and cooled water into the corny? Or am I looking at this too simplistically? Please advise.

3. Any other suggestions, pointers, kit-101 hacks

I appreciate your time and advice
Thank you

dme brews for me mostly only rarely do a kit or ag. worst part is dissolving the dme but no twang - as for bottling bigger bottles perhaps?

Beer bottle 660ml crown glass amber — PontEurope ?

I had to take a 6 month break from brewing due to an op. its a 8ummer when your stocks are low. At least I have more time now than I did so at least I can start to build them back up.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone but as you know I've battled on and stuck with the AG.
Yesterday was a 3 batch bottling...it took about 6 hours as the clean up was a bit messy. A major plus point was that my empties had all been properly rinsed after use and stored in my garage.
So..my stocks are building, everything went smoothly and i have hands like chickens feet!

I did some searching and found this article.

It seems that given some thought, you can liquor back after fermentation.
