Hi guys. Just done another 40 bottles with gravity fed bottling wand. Am running out of family helpers as this is a boring job. Anyone sorted some kind of pump system??

Bottle wand on tap of fermenter. Once I get to 8 litres it is dog slow. 30secs per bottle?? Tried tipping the bucket etc.

It probably takes me an hour to an hour an half to.bottle. I get some music on, crack a homebrew and get on with it. Take a wee break if I fancy another brew or a vape then back to it. I then give all the bottles a wipe down, screw the lids nice and tight and put them in a box.

That is using only PET bottles. I've got a stock of glass bottles but I am delaying buying a capper because I do think that might be a PITA.

I takes a bit of time but if you are well organised it's fine, it's all about having the right things in the right place and all that.

Corny kegs are the future for you. I reckon less that 20 mins to sterilise, syphon, seal, purge and connect up a brew. Then you have 33 pints on tap, no faffing. Once a keg is empty, if you have something similar and ready in an fv you don't even need to clean or sterilise (unless there is excessive grub in the bottom of the keg) just siphon straight in again.

Fill 8 bottles, use bench capper(about 10 seconds) swig homebrew, filll 8 bottles, cap, another half pint, fill 8 bottles, cap, another wee drink, fill 8 bottles, cap, another half pint home brew, finish bottling and cap, another drink, ......hell who cares about the clean up..........just make sure bottles go somewhere warm, job done and a few empty bottles for next time

If you want a speedier way to bottle and are ok at diy this could be the answer for you.

Sounds ok that! I take a bench capper is the way to go? I've never looked too deeply in to the variety of cappers.

It takes me about an hour and a half to bottle a batch, but most of that is sanitising the bottles - I use boiling water. I gave up on a bottling wand a while back after the end fell off into the bottle I was filling and I got beer everywhere. I now bottle straight from the tap. It's a bit quicker anyway. But as everyone says just put some good music on. In any case I usually quaff a pint or so of whatever I'm bottling, just to check it's ok of course. So it's not time wasted...
You could always pressure barrel instead, assuming you can find one that actually holds it's pressure...

Bottling does take a long time but it sounds a bit off. I had to get a replacement bottling wand as the push cap on the end was failing and the new one was much quicker.

Try using a screen washer pump from a car. These can be bought for pennies. Don't know if it would come out frothie though? Worth a try I suppose 🙉

Definitely a bench capper, takes seconds per bottle, the most time consuming bit is the cleaning and sanitising the bottles.
