I'm not entirely sure what first wort hops are. Is it when the hops are added to the wort before you start the boil?

Grainfather users: how would you do first wort hops in a Grainfather? Lift the (very heavy) grain basket, chuck the hops in the boiler and sparge onto them? Or would you just add to the boiler after sparge (by which time I find temp is getting up towards boiling point). Does it make a difference?

Thanks.

FWH is when you add hops before the boil and when you start the sparge.

I have a grainfather and on occasion have had to FWH. I've lifted the inner basket and thrown hops in, but this has meant getting wort on the floor and is quite tricky (Especially when doing it by myself!). Or I've lifted the basket and put it in place for sparge, and shimmy in hop pellets through the gaps from a cup.

Thanks, that is very helpful.
