Ouch!

Last night I watched a BBC4 programme about the start of Rock & Roll and spent a good few minutes of the programme Googling the old stars; and discovered (much to my amazement) that the following are all still alive!

Chuck Berry (My Dingaling.)
Jerry Lee Lewis (Great Balls of Fire)
Don Everly (All I have to do is Dream [with his brother])
Little Richard (Good Golly Miss Molly)
Pat Boone (Love Letters in the Sand)

The last one was probably the most amazing to me! Then I discovered that, despite him being so "old" when I was a youngster (remember April Moon?), he is a mere nine years older than I am.

I think I'll nip out and get another beer! :thumb: :thumb:

Blimey, ive heard of laying low but this is ridiculous!

I made a Christmas cake about 4 weeks ago using my own homebrewed porter. Fed it Grand Marnier every week then covered with marzipan and icing. Very happy with it (fingers crossed the pictures upload).

Me and a mate have built a smoker and we have developed a hobby/taste for home smoking.

This is the bacon we smoked for Xmas. It was seriously delicious in my eggs benedict for xmas morning.

View attachment IMG_5794.JPGWe did a side of salmon too. Next thing to build is a air meat curing box for prosciutto ham and the like. View attachment IMG_5796.jpg

Cycling, running, brewing. Those are the hobbies that a combination of work and family have forced to take a back seat over the last 12 months while I brought and renovated a house; which is as it should be. However, house nearly done and a better job starting in Feb should free up a little time for all three.

Sounds good. Let’s have a look at your smoker ?
I bought a wood fired outside over in the summer and have used that to smoke some meats.

Can’t beat the taste.

I haven't played a shooter for a long time as i didn't like the jump pack nonsense so i am enjoying WW2, getting a bit ****** off with the snipers on certain maps so i tend to avoid them when i can.

Agree Chippy, hated the last few COD’s. This takes it back to the old games.
I’ve been playing WAR. Addictive.
Is your user name Chippy ? Will look out for you.

No, i only play TDM i have looked at the war mode but doesn't it suffer from glory hunters who are not interested in playing as a team to win?

About 12 months ago I bought a new mountain bike for cycling to work. I then started going out into the local woods.
It has now escalated into me buying a bike worth way more than my car! And riding double black gravity runs and jumping twenty foot gap jumps.. Not sure how sensible this is at 41. Ive hurt myself quite bad on a couple of occasions and had to call a ambulance for a friend who smashed his collar bone into four pieces!!
On the plus side ive lost half a stone:thumb:

I'm really into my PC games, and I've been learning Python intensely recently. Mostly for data science as I'm looking to make a career change but I also want to get into game development as a hobby. Once I find new job I'll probably pick up Unity, maybe learn C or C++ if it helps, although they are quite hard languages. Anyway, I'm making a text based strategy game in Python.

I also make sauerkraut and various other pickles and when I can I help my wife out on her farm.
