2.5 liters of Sbiten (Russian sort of Gluhwein) with a tabelspoon of cloves was VERY interesting. Cherishing the remaining half liter in the fridge :(
 
Interesting article! Gin is to 1984 what soma is to Brave New World almost. I hadn't made that connection before... I might have to dig my old copy out for as re-read.

I first read it as a youngster and it gave me such a bad impression of gin I didn't try it for a long time - shame really given how tasty it is!
