Well yesterday I was given the all clear last min to do a brew, only my second time using the gf. I have the punkie ipa kit from malt miller so decided on that.

5kg Maris otter
Mash 17 litres at 65 deg for 1 hour
Mash out 75 deg 10 min
Sparge 11 litres

Hops
50g bravo 12 min
18g chinook 5 min
16g ahtanum 5 min
16g cascade 5 min
16g chinook 0min
16g cascade 0 min
16g ahtanum 0 min

16g cascade dry hop
16g ahtanum dry hop
16g chinook dry hop

Meant to do 19 litres at 1.055

Got 16 litres at 1.062

Forgot to put protofloc in too.

Well here she is, forgot to use protofloc so she’s murky but the flavour is unreal. Not having had the original punk I can’t say how it compares but to the punk available now this smashes it out the park. Big thumbs up to malt miller

200g of hops added late or post boil are going to give some haze, Perhaps the omission of the protofloc is not entirely to blame.
As you say, this style is not really about clarity and needs to be drunk long before that might happen.

Cheers!

Latest brew, a recipe I won from a brew tuber, black tooth grin, 100g fuggles at the start of boil and that’s it, sounds easy. Wrong, I somehow knocked the filter off and getting the stupid pump to work was an absolute nightmare, after what seemed like 10 days I eventually got the beer in to ferment, fingers crossed it’s ok. Will be adding bourbon soaked bourbon cask chunks in secondary for 1 month

Love the way you've got the kids in on the cleaning. My two are so lazy they can barely lift their heads up from their ipads.
100g fuggles at start of boil. Interesting one that, never done anything like it. Let us know how it turns out.
