Hi
I have brewed my first ever brew which was a magnum cider
i brewed the cider 7 dsys ago and followed the instructions, my brew hasn't bubbled at all , but has formed a head on top of the cider
what should I do . I was thinking of adding more yeast, is this a good idea ?

What are you making it in a DJ or a FV?

If its the latter its a common question asked here a lot of FV's are not airtight and it only takes a small leak to stop the airlock bubbling if you get a hydrometer it will take all the guess work out and its useful for gauging how strong your cider, beer or wine will be.

If it reads about 1.000 or lower it will be close to or have finished fermentation. If it's 1.050 or higher then fermentation hasn't started or has stuck.

I think Chippy is correct and you have a leak somewhere else.

I've given up even trying to seal my FV or use an airlock. Just take hydrometer readings at the start and end and it will be fine.
