£30 around here, uncrushed. Golden Promise and Vienna ditto, £20 for Dingemans Pale Ale, Munich £22. All uncrushed though.

Worcester Hop Shop wouldn't let me have the delivery made to my office address (possibly first order syndrome) so I ended up going with the Home Brew Store who also offer a small forum discount. Truth be known though by the time shipping has been added (a not unreasonable £7 or £8 from most of the shops I saw) there's not a massive difference.

My local home brew shop does, well according to their website anyway, a 25kg sack for £30. Which compared to £5.95 for their next size down (3kg) is a good price seeing as £2 per kg or £1.20 if in 25kg bulk. To be honest local prices are likely cheaper than mail order prices due to weight and cost of posting I assume.

I've been getting my sacks from brewsmarter. not the best company but they do cheap grain and don't charge much for postage to Highlands unlike everyone else. they had Viking pilsner type stuff for under 20 and pale for not much more and 7 quid for 50kg delivery which is crazy cheap compared to others. their stock is bad though in general.

In looking I have found some offers on grain online which even with the postage can be comparable and in some cases cheaper than local. Though I must admit to just get a small batch locally for now as I need to do my first AG brew and get at least a second brewing bucket before seriously thinking of getting the grain by the 25kg sack. I mean, how many 40 pint brews will 25kg do, at least 5?.
yes it's best to have a mill if you're going bulk. incidentally I have one going spare I accidentally bought two of. sixty quid posted. it's not even out of its delivery box..

OK, there's a price for cheap. MO arrived today, manufactured March 2017 with a use by date of September this year. Next time I'll pay a little extra and check the batch date before ordering. You live and learn.

Sorry, old thread, but just thought I would chip in. I recently collected a 25kg bag of crushed Crisp Maris Otter for £19 (expiry 2021) from Charles Faram's head office who are located near Malvern, Worcestershire. Might help anyone local. You will need to complete a new customer form on their website and then email their sales team to say when you want to collect, then just pay when you collect.
